Price behaves differently depending on which financial centres are open and what is on the calendar. Questions

What time does the forex market open?

Forex trades around the clock from Sunday evening to Friday evening. Most brokers open the week at about 5pm New York time on Sunday and close at about 5pm New York time on Friday. Gold usually opens about an hour after forex. Your broker's server times decide the exact hours.

When is the most active time to trade forex?

Volume and movement are usually highest while London and New York are both open, roughly 08:00 to 12:00 New York time. The Asian session is often quieter for the major pairs. The market hours tool shows which centres are open now in your own time.

Which economic events move the markets most?

Central bank rate decisions, inflation (CPI), employment reports such as US Non-Farm Payrolls, and GDP are usually marked high impact. Spreads can widen and prices can jump around these releases, which is why many prop firms restrict trading close to them.

Is retail sentiment a trading signal?

Not on its own. A crowded long or short split can stay crowded while price keeps moving the same way, and one broker's clients may not represent the whole market. Treat it as context alongside your own plan.
