Forex and gold risk calculators
Work out what a trade can cost before you place it. These calculators turn a balance, a risk percentage and a stop into a lot size, show how a run of losses affects an account, and put a cash figure on drawdown recovery and martingale series. They run in your browser and need no account.

Questions
What percentage of my account should I risk per trade?
There is no single correct number. Many traders keep risk per trade between 0.5% and 2% so that an ordinary losing streak does not do lasting damage. The risk of ruin simulator shows how your own win rate and reward-to-risk behave at different risk sizes.
How is position size calculated?
Position size is the cash you are willing to lose divided by the stop distance in pips times the pip value per lot. Cash risk is your balance times your risk percentage. The position size calculator rounds down to 0.01 lots so rounding never takes the loss above your limit.
Why does a 50% loss need a 100% gain to recover?
Because the recovery starts from a smaller balance. $1,000 that falls 50% leaves $500, and $500 has to double to get back to $1,000. The drawdown recovery calculator shows the gain needed for any loss.
Does a martingale or recovery multiplier improve the odds?
No. It changes the size of the stakes, not the probability or payout of each trade. Short losing runs are recovered, and the rarer long losing run becomes much larger. The martingale calculator shows that full series in cash before you use it.
